Wind Farm

after an age  of driving past  chimneys and cooling towers farmland unrolling under the low sky   drizzle blurs the  gigantic emergence of a wind turbine  blades dipping in  and out of cloud   more follow – a clandestine gathering staggered across the horizon a crescendo of blades reaping air and luckless birds   a silent revolution rewinding the clock  second by second   Runner up Writers’ Forum Poetry Contest Issue 155 2014
