Wind Farm

after an age

of driving past

chimneys and cooling towers

farmland unrolling

under the low sky

drizzle blurs the

gigantic emergence of

a wind turbine

blades dipping in

and out of cloud

more follow –

a clandestine gathering

staggered across the horizon

a crescendo of blades

reaping air

and luckless birds

a silent revolution

rewinding the clock

second by second
